Thankful Thoughts - January 4, 2017

I am thankful for living in a place that has mild winters.  Although snow is beautiful, I do not miss shoveling snow, driving or attempting to walk on ice, or being cold and achy because of it. We do have a few days of wintery weather each year, but nothing like I grew up with in South Dakota. Each area of the country has it's good points and bad points, and I can find plenty to grumble about living here, but mild winter weather is a plus for West Texas.

  1. While cold is painful for me, i do like the time of year when i don't have to turn on the A/C!

    1. I do not love our very hot summers here, Mimi. I tend to complain about them then. I guess it is the price we pay for mild winters. We have our electric bill averaged so we pay the same each month regardless of how much heat or cooling we need. I like that a lot!

  2. Winter here is usually ok, not that it stops me from complaining how cold it is but really it isn't as cold as I think it is most days during winter

    1. That's true here as well, the temperatures are nothing compared to what people in the Midwest and North endure, but I still sit here freezing, typing in my fingerless gloves, and wishing I didn't have to go outside today!
