Thankful Thoughts - January 3, 2017

I am thankful for my blog friends, most of which I've never met in person.  We are connected by the words we share and the caring that has grown between us.  Although I spend most of my days alone now, I never feel lonely, there is always someone awesome to connect with at the click of a few keys. The magic of the Internet is discovering there is a whole world of wonderful people you never would have met otherwise!

  2. I have felt this way before, too - Jos. I'm wondering if I can get back to where I was with blogging back before 2010, when things began to change radically in the blog world. Maybe even before then, I'm' not sure. It seems that it was 2009 and 2010 when all things became different, and at the time I blamed Facebook. I think that social networking has become a completely different animal since facebook, twitter, snapchat, etc. I was on Facebook for quite some time, myself. Then I got frustrated with little snippets of people' lives, little sound bites if they had been spoken. And it seemed that the friends had fallen away and those that were left were really just acquaintances, no real friends. And the complaining and whining --- oh brother ---- I got so tired of it. So, I deleted by page. And pretty much became isolated. Some of it was my fault, but much of it was due to the only communication being just little sentences that meant nothing. And people forget you if they only know you that way. So... I'd like to see the blog world come back the way it was back before then. Rationally. I know that won't happen that way again. But we can still hope. LOL. Love and hugs old friend. J.

    1. I agree with you Jamie, we have a very close, caring group where we pretty much shared all the ups and downs of our lives, and it was a lifeline. I enjoy Facebook for saying "hi" to folks, and sharing quotes and cats, but there is way too much drama, political crap, and you are right about the little soundbites, not to mention some folks posting a selfie a day!! I started my other place just to have a spot where I feel I can be real again, like we were then... interactive. Let's work to rebuild that, and see what happens! XOXO
