Thankful Thoughts - January 29, 2017

I am thankful for perspective. On days when little annoyances and frustrations disturb my inner calm, I know not to let it snowball into that "bad day, bad life" mentality. In the bigger picture I know I am very blessed and my life is very good.

  2. It helps to have an attitude of gratitude . I've been thinking of three things every day to be grateful for. They can be as fleeting as a nice cup of tea or a smile from my husband or as chaotic as a houseful of visitors that , although wearying is so much fun. I am often thankful for a warm bath or a chat with a daughter or son .
    The list can be endless. Some days I struggle to find three things and other days I could think of thirty.
    It's all about how you feel and it's on the days when it's hard to think of anything to be thankful for that it's important to find those three things, that undoubtedly will be there

    1. You've learned the secret to living with gratitude, Marian! If we practice recognizing it every day in the little ways and the big ways, it becomes our habit and changes our perspective of life. It's on the days that it's hard that we need it the most! I do it here daily and weekly at the other place. And sometimes we do find that the tiniest things that bring us joy make all the difference!

  3. We need to remember bad is only as bad as we let it be. Truly awful things can happen but how we work through them and what our attitude is makes a difference. An attitude of gratitude is most important.

    1. You are right Patricia, we may not always be able to prevent bad things from happening, but how we choose to deal with that is totally up to us. Gratitude keeps our mindset positive, and prayer helps us focus on the source of comfort and direction.

  4. Too many people hold onto the bad things that happen during a day when if they let it go and moved on they would be a happier person

    1. You are right Jo-Anne, the longer you stew on something the more it will ruin your day, deal with it, cry and scream if you must, and then get over it and move on. Life is too short to stay unhappy.

  5. I have certainly had days where horrible things have happened and everything seems to be going wrong: but the sun still came up, then it set and all was pretty much okay.... and all is well that ends well. There's always something good to find.

    1. I agree, we have to pray about it and then let it go at the end of day. Everything will work out if we give it time.
