Quivering Heart

Sometimes life seems so unfair, we want to question why
We have no power to change things so we can only cry
Sweet kitty's life cut far too short, to angels she must fly
Her quivering heart is shattered as she whispers a goodbye

Written in memory of my dear friend Jamie's beloved Meisha, pictured above, who died this morning unexpectedly after a very short illness.  Jamie has suffered so much already, it seems unspeakably cruel that she has been handed yet another loss.  If I had the power to exchange the life of one of my precious furkids to save Meisha for her I would offer it gladly, but there are no such bargains to be made with God. Please add Jamie to your prayers, she lives with constant severe pain, and now with a broken heart.

write a story or poem of 5 Lines or Less using the word: quiver

  1. Omgosh --- my dear, dear friend.... you are determined to keep me crying today!! I thank you so very much for your kind words. I believe you would give one of yours to spare my pain.... how can I say anything to that? Such a kind, beautiful soul you have. Yes, I am in physical pain and even more so ---- my heartache. My Meisha was a beautiful little girl that kept me laughing, her spirit was always light and she was funny --- and she lived to make me laugh! She will be SO missed. But, I will survive. We know, when we take on these furry little children, that we will have to suffer the pain of losing them. And other than today, I believe it's very worth it. I keep thinking I'll see her here or there, then I remember the horror of the morning...the only real comfort is knowing that she had the best life of any kitty I know of, for if you're lucky enough to be a pet of this household, you come first!!! I loved her, we all did.... and she won't be forgotten. With time, the pain will get better. Wendy, thank you for your love and concern. Much, much love, Jamie

    1. There is nothing I wouldn't do to make your life better, if only I had the way. You have done the same for me and I remember. Your furkids, like mine, are the most loved and spoiled bunch, they've truly won the lottery of life, and Meisha was one lucky little girl. I am glad that she has given you wonderful, happy memories to make you smile through the tears. Pope Francis has said that furkids go to Heaven, so she'll be waiting for you there! XOXO

    1. Thank you so much Mimi, for your note on Jamie's page too. As a kitty rescue mom, and having your own that you surely love as much as Jamie and I do ours, I know you understand the pain of losing them, whether young or old. But they have surely known love, and that matters!

  4. So sad when we lose our furkids. They are a blessing and are never forgotten because they are indeed family. You are a kind and generous friend. This was a sad but beautiful and precious link to In Another Words. Thank you.

    1. They do indeed have special place in our hearts, Patricia, and it is always so painful to say goodbye to one of them. I wish they lived longer, but that wouldn't make it any easier when the time came. This one was especially hard to feel ok about. :-(
