If I Had My Druthers

If I had my druthers, we would live near lakes and trees
Neither of us would have to work, we could do whatever we pleased;
Money would be no object, worries would melt away
We could take long walks in the moonlight
And sleep in the middle of the day.

  1. Druthers and dreams are a lot alike. I think there are more than a few here that share yours. Keep the faith...druthers and dreams can come true. Maybe not as quickly as we would like but there is a lot of life in the waiting. Thanks for sharing with In other Words.

    1. Thank you for the fun word prompts, Patricia, I am enjoying them! We can dream of what we would like life to be, and we may get there yet, but yes, it's important to live in the moment too. I know a couple that dreamed of taking a vacation but never quite got it organized, then he got cancer and eventually died, both were still young and never imagined it would end that way. Live life now!

  2. I hope you can live like that someday soon.

    1. Hopefully we will be somewhere closer to it in the next couple years. I want Papa Bear to not have to work so hard, six days a week at 63 is a lot, but he doesn't want to try changing jobs at this point in his life, and I don't blame him, that's hard too.

    1. As we get older this kind of lifestyle becomes more and more appealing doesn't it? I'd be happy for you if you could just have a couple days off each week, Mimi, just like I wish for Papa Bear! You both work so hard just to make ends meet. I do what I can to help, but I want to do more.

  4. I am with you on the lake and trees part - I have a bit of trouble sleeping during the day, but I can definitely curl up with a good book!
