1. One thing I would really like to have more often is a day with nothing to worry about! God is still trying to teach me about trust, I am a slow learner. :-)

2. My favorite magazine is Guideposts.  I've been reading it for over forty years!  It has wonderful true stories of God working in people's lives. There is a Kindle version too!

3.  Recently the mornings have been nice and cool. I love Fall so much!

4.  Even though I like to get up and get moving in the morning, I have the bad tendency to stay awake too late at nightI need to change that!

  1. I tend to stay up too late at night, because that's when I get a short burst of energy. I pay for it in the morning when I can't drag my bottom out of bed. It gets harder as the days get shorter and it's colder. I can relate to your answers! Two friends and I recently visited an elephant sanctuary in Indiana and I share our experience as well as some fun photos. Perhaps you'd like to view/read it? In any case, have a great weekend! http://dianeweidenbenner.com/8th-wonder-world-elephants-ctst/

    1. Early morning and late evening are my best thinking/writing/reflection times, Diane. I would love all days to include a nice long mid-day nap to accomodate such a schedule. But I suspect I still wouldn't want to get up in the morning! :-)

  2. The only way i've found that works is to get up at the exact same time every single morning no matter what. After a while your body adjusts and you get sleepy at night at the perfect time to get just the right amount of sleep.

It's been a long time since i've read Guideposts; i always did enjoy it, and now i wonder why i got away from it.

    1. I know that's right too, Mimi, in the "old days" people kept to the same hours day in and day out and their bodies adjusted accordingly. I've been telling my husband that we need to get back to that, and also to stop staying up so late on Saturday nights!

I love guideposts, I always read it cover to cover in one sitting!

  3. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am the same way with staying up too late. I need to look into Guideposts, I have never read it, but it sounds nice. Have a great weekend!

    1. I always look forward to Friday and the Fill-Ins, Ellen! :-) Please email me your address and I will happily send you a subscription to Guideposts. It's a fun and easy read and it is not expensive.

  4. Suzanne and I are night people. I think she is really a vampire. Anyway, when left on our own, with no appointments, that is where we do best.
    Have a great October.

    1. I love staying up late, David, but I also love mornings. It is mid-day that I am least productive and wish I could take a nice nap, but then I'd stay up even later at night! :-)

  5. I can function far better at night than I can in the daytime. It has always been that way for me. David and I are both night people, like he said. I'm not sure about being a vampire, though. haha

Guideposts is a great magazine. I haven't read it in years.

A day with no worries would be absolutely wonderful. :)

A miracle happened here today...I was able to walk outside without sweating buckets. It felt great out there! A soft, cool breeze was blowing. I almost let myself think that we might actually get a fall this year. Then I looked at the forecast for the week. Wednesday isn't going to feel like fall, but I will feel like falling if I have to be out in it for long. haha

    Have a blessed weekend!

    1. My children are both night people and have made that work for them by pursuing careers with night shifts. Vampire wife, that could be a good story, tell David he needs to write one! :-)

Guideposts is awesome, I love it, always have. A day without worries would probably just make me worry about what might be lurking around the corner to get us next!!

We have only had a couple cool days here, but the weather report says tomorrow will be cool, maybe rainy, I can live with that! :-)

  6. I stay up way too late also. I've rather given up on changing at this point. It just seems how I am wired. My 12 year old is rarely in bed before 10 pm - so that kinda cancels out going to be early for me. ha.

    1. We always plan to head to bed by 10:30, but somehow that drags out until 11 PM, and then I spend an hour or so reading or playing on my phone until I fall asleep. That's a bad habit I really need to break!

  7. Your fill-ins match mine, sort of. I like to stay up late at night, but now I'm getting older I don't stay awake. It really isn't fun to sleep the night or part of it away sleeping in a chair.
I have a bunch of Guideposts to read, older ones back when we had a subscription. I have other thing saved also, but the Guideposts are top of my list. They don't go out of date when they are out of date.
I liked ALL of your snippets above here also, walking slower and enjoying more would be my favorite. I tell those catching up with me to walk ahead, he/she walk faster than I do. They smile as they go around. Driving is a different matter though.

    1. Papa Bear gets pretty sleepy in his chair later in the evening too Jim, he says he is resting his eyes, but I think his eyes snore then! LOL

You are right that Guideposts stories never go out of date. At one time I had six months worth to catch up on! I tend to read the whole magazine at one sitting, the stories are great!

I like you telling those walking behind you to pass by. I do the same, and also in hallways, stores, etc. I move slowly, not by choice, but at the same time we really don't always have to be in such a big hurry in life! If I fall back there may be someone who needs help with the door after everyone else has rushed through! I tend to drive slowly most the time because I get lost in my thoughts and don't realize that I've let up on the gas, especially out in the rural area where our home is! :-)

  8. So, you are human? That is perfectly normal. I used to stay up late. I have learned that for me, as I get older, I need to get have a better routine for my health. That is the key, to find what works best for oneself. Thanks for joining us!
I have been so sick this week with a very bad cold. Stay well!
