Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 1

Annie at McGuffy's Reader and Ellen at 15andmeowing are starting a fun meme called  Friendly Fill-In's this week.

Here are the first week's statements with the blanks:

1. I want to stop ________ and start ________________.

2. I haven't ___________ in __________________.

3. I believe ____________.

4. My earliest memory is _____________.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Here are my answers:

1. I want to stop procrastinating and start making more progress on my goals.

2. I haven't seen my children who live in Tennessee in a year and I miss them very much, although we talk and text and exchange pictures often.  It is hard to coordinate a meet up with four different work/vacation schedules, but we hope to do so soon.

3. I believe that we are all family, all related, and that our purpose here is to "walk each other home".

4. My earliest memory is when I was sick with pneumonia when I was two.  I was in my flannel pajamas and my parents were preparing to take me to the hospital.  I remember it in a hazy, feverish way, but I didn't know what it was about until I asked my Mom many years later. I spent my first two Christmases in the hospital.

All you have to do to participate is
complete the statements and link your post up here
This way we can all get to know each other a little better!

    1. It is going to be a fun blog-hop, I enjoyed thinking about the questions! #3 is my favorite too, I think the concept of belonging and being responsible for helping each other is so important!

  2. Thanks for stopping by and enjoying Katie Kitty Too reporting. Loved reading "I believe that we are all family, all related, and that our purpose here is to "walk each other home". - Have you ever heard of the song that goes "We are all God's Children his next of kin... that's the way it began...?"

I hope you get to see your kids soon - a year is a long time to catch up with family. Purrz, Katie Kat.

    1. So thankful that your parents took you to the hospital when you were little and that you recovered from pneumonia. Must have been furry scary to be so sick. I remember being sick with chicken pox and scared. >^..^<

    2. I haven't heard that song, but I know I would like it! We are family, all of us, there are no borders in God's eyes! I hope we are able to get together before much longer too. I was too little to remember being sick, thankfully, but I a certain that my parents were very worried.

    1. We had it set up once awhile back, but things came up. When the timing is right it will happen. Thanks to the Internet we still get to share our lives every day. My mother would have loved that!

  4. Good answers, Josie. I think we can all relate to #1. Human nature always makes us feel like we have more time. I like the idea of #3, but I think we are not all headed in the same direction, so need to be careful who we walk with. It is hard to be a parent with a sick child, especially at holidays. I am sure it broke your parent's hearts. you are blessed to have had parents who cared.

Thank you for joining and being a part of our meme! It should be fun!

    1. That's true about #1, we always think we will eventually get around to it, until one day it's too late! I like your point about being careful who we walk with, some can lead us to the darkness, while others will lead us to the light. I know that my parents were young and struggling and certainly were very worried and sad about me being sick at Christmas. Thankfully, I came through it just fine! :-)

  5. A year is a long time to be too far apart to hug. Hope it works out that y'all can get together soon.

    1. I agree, Patricia! I wish they didn't live so far away, or more accurately, I wish we lived there. Tennessee is beautiful! Maybe someday! :-) When it is supposed to happen it will all work out!

    1. Thanks, Yvonne! I am worse at it than I used to be, sometimes it's just so much easier to not get started... but I'm sorry in the long run when I do that!

    1. If only everyone saw it that way, it would be a much better world! I was too young and too miserable to realize what I was missing out on, but I'm certain it was very hard on my parents.

    1. Christmas in bed isn't much fun at all! I agree #3 is the best, it is the happiest idea and makes me smile to think of life that way! :-)

  10. I'm sorry you haven't physically seen your family in a over a year. I know that you keep connected but there is something about the physical connection, a big hug, that we all need to give and receive from our loved ones. This is a very interesting blog hop. It helps your friends learn more about you.
