Toby Picks The Winner!

I'm sure you remember that everyone sharing a post at Two Shoes Tuesday for the past two weeks has been entered in a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card in celebration of the 100th Edition of Two Shoes Tuesday!  In the interest of being impartial, I decided to let Toby choose the winner. :-)
I took small squares of aluminum foil, one for each person who posted a link on Week #99, and one for each person who posted a link on Week #100.  I wrote a name on each square with a Sharpie, then crushed them into balls with the name on the inside.  I put all the balls in this candy dish and stirred them up.
Then I called upon the services of my capable assistant Toby to choose the winning contestant.  He wasted no time in selecting one of the balls, picking it up with his mouth... and taking off down the hallway with it! :-)
Retrieving Toby and the foil ball of his choice, I handed the ball to Papa Bear, who had been overseeing the proceedings in the interest of fairness.  He opened the ball to discover....
Patricia at Patricia's Place
is the official winner of the $100 Amazon.com gift card!

Congratulations Patricia!
Send your email address to me at jts.2000@yahoo.com
and I'll send that gift card your way! :-)

A big THANK YOU to EVERYONE who participated in the contest and helped me
celebrate this Two Shoes Tuesday milestone.  Let's do it again for the 200th Edition!

  1. I had to laugh at your determination to be unbiased and scrupulously fair by having an independent judge drawing the winner "from the cat" as it were.

    1. LOL, Old Egg! Yes, we had to retrieve the winning entry from the cat, literally! Toby took his assignment seriously! :-)

    1. I am happy for her too, and thankful for everyone who participates each week, including you!

That photo was taken when we were at the beach last month, I felt and looked 20 years younger there... no stress or responsibilities except to eat, sleep and play will do that! :-)

    1. Toby made his choice quite clear, he wanted to make sure we understood! LOL It was a fun way to do the drawing, and it was fun having the drawing for everyone to participate in. We will do another one again sometime! :-)

  4. Now see, if I would be around more often it could've been me winning that gift card. My absence has yet another negative impact. Less writing, less venting or ranting, less chances to win cool stuff.

    Congrats to the winner!

    1. You are exactly right Dan, this card could have been yours, and more importantly, you are missed in the blogsphere! I was happy to see you showing up today! I dropped by your blog and will be back in the next day or two when I have time to leave a response worthy of your post!

  5. Good thing you had those names printed on the inside. We would't want Toby to cheat. :)

You went above and beyond in order to be fair. I would expect nothing less from you. You are such a kind person.

I'm seriously bummed that I didn't get a post in for the contest!

    1. Haha Christine, one never knows... Toby is pretty smart, and just maybe he can read but isn't letting on! I didn't want anyone to think I might be rigging the outcome by putting one name or another nearest him. This way they were unknown to me, and I mixed them well to give everyone a fair chance.

I am happy to see that you linked up a post today. Believe me, I understand shortage of blogging time, life trumps blogging! We will have another contest in the months ahead! :-)

    1. None of my furkids are scratchers, Zoe, and only Sophie is declawed, since she came from the Shelter that way. They are a pretty mellow, sweet bunch, and Toby gave up his "prize ball" willingly. For him it was all about the fun of capture... steal and run, you should see how well he does that with food stolen off my plate!! :-)

  7. Oh, Josie, I won the drawing?! I was getting ready to write this weeks TST post and saw this. Now I am too excited to write it. Thank you, thank you, thank you...and Toby, too. You have blessed me with your generosity.

    1. Yay Patricia! I was going to message you, but I thought it would be more fun to wait for you to discover that you were the winner! I know you can put this card to good use with the reading you enjoy, and just maybe Teddy will agree to a toy for his new brother as well as for himself! Send me your email address and I'll ship that card your way, so you can have fun with it! Thank you for sharing with us at Two Shoes Tuesday, and for giving me so many reasons to nod in agreement on your blog and to smile on Teddy's!

    1. As everyone knows, Jim, I am a great fan of Amazon.com, and I thought that celebrating the 100th Two Shoes Tuesday with $100 gift dollars from Amazon was just perfect... and Toby turned out to be the purrfect assistant! I'm glad to see you joining in, I've missed you while you were busy helping Mrs. Jim get better!

  10. It's amazing that your cat did exactly what you wanted him to. Does he always go for little balls of foil?

    1. It's the first time I tried it, Vanessa, but I was pretty sure he would cooperate, he pounces on anything that moves... toys, food, and the other cats included! The other three watched but showed no interest in checking out what was in the dish. He added his own twist to the plan though, by making a run for it with the ball! Didn't have to guess which one he liked most! :-)
