Tread Softly

Tread softly on my heart
don't stomp across with muddy boots
I've worked too hard at clearing dirt away
Don't tell me that I'm still
not good enough to wipe your feet on
You didn't really know me then
you sure as hell don't know me now
My old worn heart may bear your scars
but I assure you it is whole
and I am strong, alive and well
I'm linking up with Brenda at BYG Adventures
where the word we are Pondering this week is "tread"

    Thanks for pondering with me

  2. Lovely words, Josie.

    Anita- I, Me And Myself

  3. Great poem! Truer words were never spoken.

  4. Great job on this, Josie....a no-nonsense girl.

  5. I can relate to the imagery of this beautiful poem.

  6. No one deserves the meanness that some people can dish out.

  7. I can absolutely think of a few people I could address this to. . .

Also, I was stopping by to let you know I've nominated you for the Liebster Award, if you so choose:

Please do not feel obligated in any way, if it is not your thing, (or if you've done this countless times before!). . . BUT, I thought it'd be fun!! :D

  8. oh... fantastic.
I'm gonna need this poster mounted. :)
