30 Days of Thankful - Day 10

I like to dream that life could be this way, but in reality I am sincerely thankful for the mornings that I do not have to rise to the demands of my phone alarm clock.  How sweet it is to wake up when my mind and body feel rested and ready to begin the day!

  1. Those days are rare and to be cherished, i agree, as the bottle kittens are always hungry long before i'm ready to get up (not to mention the other word that awaits).

    1. Saturday mornings are usually my chance to sleep in, Mimi. Even then I am most often up around 9, but that's a far cry from my 6AM alarm on workdays. Oh how I loathe getting up while it's still dark! Ahh yes, babies must be attended to, those tiny little furry tummys need to be tanked up! :-)

  2. I think this is understandable to feel this way. It can be a grind. I have several retired friends who still rise early, and miss working. I think that is understandable too. I also agree with Mimi: there is always something to be done!

    1. While I might rise early if it was at my option, Annie, I for certain would not miss working, such as it is. There is always far more I want to do with my days than what I can fit in. Boredom is not in my vocabulary! I know you rise way early in the mornings, there was a time that I loved to do that too. Now I long to sneak in just a few more minutes before the snooze button goes off!

  3. Nothing but an alarm clock ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM can launch me out of bed before 10 a.m. And I put it on LOUD on the Hispanic station.

    1. That absolutely works, Maria! I always suggest that to people who claim that they shut their alarm off and fall back to sleep. If you have to put your feet on the floor, you are going to wake up, ready or not.

  4. Some days are definitely easier than others, that's for sure. :)

    1. Most definitely true, Dana. Mondays are the hardest, though once I'm actually on the road and headed that way I'm ok, it's just finding the motivation to get up and go that is hard. Fridays, while the wrap up and eagerly awaited also seem to move incredibly slow, sometimes we think that time is standing still as we do the 5 o'clock countdown! :-)

    1. I would too, Lisa! I do know a few people who are blessed to have found a way to earn a living doing exactly what they love and excel at. I might have done that too, had I opted to stay in school way back then. Still, I can't complain, I've had a good life and I've always been able to find a job when I needed one, that's a definite blessing to count in today's world!
