Feline Friday - Oct. 4th

If all goes as planned, at 7:30 AM this morning, I will be in surgery to finally get that pesky gallbladder removed.  The robotic surgery normally takes about a half hour, and an hour or so later I should be on my way home with Papa Bear, ready to spend the day spaced out in bed, and probably looking much like the kitty above.  Although it doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, I'm sure they will give me plenty of good drugs to keep me mellow, and it will be nice to finally be free of that annoying little bag of stones. I think I will ask the doctor to save them for me. :-)  In  view of the fact that anesthesia often results in some rather unusual behavior while it is slowly wearing off,  I cannot be held responsible for anything I post here or on Facebook that is even more "interesting" than my usual fare! :-)

  1. Papa Bear, if you're reading this, please put the laptop away from Josie until the anesthesia wears off. This is for your own good ;o)

    1. Hehe, Annie, my clever son, on seeing a picture Papa Bear sent of me in the hospital bed ready for surgery with cellphone still in my hand, texted him later to ask if the doctor had to surgically remove it as well! :-)

  4. Looks like the cat is thinking, "Don't bother me unless you have food."

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks, Sandie! The surgery went off without a hitch. Home, rested, sore but not really in any pain. Have been up and walking around , eating soup and Jello. So very glad to have it over and done!

  6. I too loved Abelle's comment. Did Papa Bear take the laptop away? Probably.

You'll be home in no time and taking a nice nap.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. ☺

    1. I didn't surrender my cellphone to him until they came to wheel me into the operating room, Sandee! When we got home I was still pretty groggy, so slept the afternoon away and am feeling pretty lucid now, I hope! :-)

    1. Thanks! Once I heal and the soreness is gone I will most likely feel much better than I did before, no more pain in the belly!

    1. I behaved Steve, came home and slept, did manage to post a couple lines to FB and family, but read them carefully to make sure nothing weird crept in! :-) Surgery doesn't scare me, but I am not a fan of anesthesia, nor the mask over my mouth and nose. Once they backed it up and inch or so, I was ready to go peacefully to neverland! :-)

    1. Not so bad Kathe, at least at this point, just sore, which I will likely be a bit more sore tomorrow. I slept about four hours this afternoon, then got up so I can sleep again tonight. Going to be a very laid-back, take it easy weekend. :-)

    1. Well, I thought I did too, Kristi, like 30 years ago! LOL But for sure that little bugger is gone now and all the stones with it. I know that I will actually feel much better with it officially gone, and good riddance!

  12. I guess you are home and hopefully snoozing. My Gramma had her gall stones in a jar on her dresser.Praying for a fast and uneventful recovery. Now go take your meds...

    1. I was home before lunchtime, Patricia, and slept the afternoon away. Was pretty groggy, but I remember everything clearly except the actual surgery itself. They wouldn't give the stones to me, are no longer allowed to do that due to "bacterial safety", but I don't think they would have been a future décor item anyway! Thank you for the prayers, not needing any meds this evening, but have them if I do!

  14. I just discovered this now. I meant to get back to you on this post… and was going through such a storm time, that I forgot all about it. Hope you are feeling very well now, and your ordeal is buried in the past.
