  1. Awww...they may not be so cute when they are grown, but little ones are always cute. Excellent contribution.

    1. So true, Sandee, babies are adorable! This little one just seemed to be saying "Mom!!" Adult hippos are actually some of the most ferocious creatures there are, moving much more quickly than anyone would think possible for their size and shape - you definitely don't want to mess with a mama hippo! :)

  2. They are adorable, well all babies are! Mom isn't impressed with the "display", though.

    1. Mom looks a little weary of all the ruckus, doesn't she? :-)

    1. I'm always amazed at how small the babies are for such big critters like hippos and elephants, Dana! This little guy looks like he has a lot to say! :)

    1. And he/she doesn't look to shy about it! I'm guessing he wants to tell Mom that his sibling is bothering him! ;-)

    1. I agree April, babies are a symbol for life renewal, they never fail to make us smile... even babies such as this that won't be the most glamorous of creatures when they are full grown like mama here. This photo is from an online collection, I have no idea where it was taken. Would have loved to see them live though!
