Blogging From A to Z... "P"

An Attitude of Gratitude
I AM THANKFUL...

1)  For my beloved Papa Bear who is one of God's very finest creations. In my case, God saved the very best for last when He brought Papa Bear into my life five years ago!

2) For purple, one of my two favorite colors (you'll find out the other one later this month).

3) For Post-It Notes - One of the coolest little inventions ever!  How would I live without them?  I use three different sizes at work in assorted bright neon colors, and you will find them attached to objects as well as papers all over my work area! :-)

4) For people who understand the value praise and use it to uplift and encourage. One can never give too much sincere praise, people grow so much better with  praise than with being pounded down!

5) For paychecks, a necessity for survival, whether we love it or not. I a truly grateful that both Papa Bear and I have good, stable jobs and are able to bring  home enough money to make it through each month.  I know we are blessed, because there are so many that aren't able to find  jobs or work.

6) For pistachio nuts, peanut butter and pizza... - need I say more? :-)

7) For photographs  that capture the memories of our lives, and for instant cellphone pix that enable us to share fun events, beautiful scenes touching moments, and even reminders of what we need to buy at the store!

8) For my soft, puffy pillow that is such a pleasure to settle into when I crawl wearily into bed.

9) For the incredible Chinese freshwater pearl that a precious friend gave me for my birthday.  It is unique and so very beautiful, something that I will treasure always.

10) For peace of heart and mind, and for peace in my life... at long last!

  1. Another great list of things that make you happy. I am sure that these are fun to do, even if it makes you really think. It is a good thing to do, for your soul and for those around you. I love my fluffy pillow, too!

    1. It is fun, McGuffy Ann! I am usually so oblivious to my surroundings and this challenge has helped me pay more attention to the happy details of my life, the little things we too often overlook! This is going to be quite a list by the end of the month!

Yes, after years of trial and error, Papa Bear and I have found pillows that are not too soft, not to hard, but just right... sounds perfect for The Bear family, doesn't it? ;-)

    1. Indeed, Joe, although the lists are in no particular order (since hopefully peace ranks a little higher than Post-It notes too), but Papa Bear is always the first and last thought on my mind, so of course he gets the place of honor at the head of the list!

I'm working on the Q list, and anticipate that X and Z will be difficult too, but then I don't always play by the rules! ;-)

  3. Wonderful list! I, too, am thankful for photographs. My poor aging mind can only remember so much! ;)

    Have a beautiful day. :)

    1. Photographs make me smile, Dana! I love the digital photo frames that allow you to view a bunch of your favorite photos... great for the office! Papa Bear and I often send each other reminder notes with photos of a particular brand item, etc we need from the store. My daughter sends me pictures of great new products she thinks I would like too. I remember the old days of developing rolls of photos, and mine never seemed to turn out that great. Now I can take 20 if I like, just to get one good one of a cat or a flower!:-)

  4. I love how you and Papa Bear are so in love. It reminds me of me and hubby. We'll have been together 17 years and married 12 years April 29th. I just love how you talk about your hubby.

    Have a terrific day. ☺

    1. Love makes all the difference Sandee! If you read thru my history on this blog you will see that I was in three very bad/abusive marriages before. Those experiences make me appreciate the wonderful, caring, trustworthy man that Papa Bear is. I had no idea men like this actually existed before I met him! :-)

  5. Love the list and all that you mentioned especially about Praise. It's true you can never have too much of it, and every time that we receive it, it encourages us to do better. I like Post-it's too. I'd be lost without them. I would like to add one more thing to that List Prayer, Something that makes wonders and miracles happen.

    1. Oh my goodness, how did I forget prayer?! Prayer is as important to me as breathing, it is something I do all day long! I totally agree with you that prayer is a powerful means of affecting change in our lives and the lives of others, it is our connection to God! Thank you for the timely reminder! :-)

    1. I am grateful for your friendship too, Val! Making these lists have been really good for me, it helps improve my frame of mind. When we think about what's good we spend less time thinking about what's bad. :-)

    1. Gratefulness is a great way to approach life, it acts as insulation against all the negative thoughts we are bombarded with from within and without each day. I'm eager to see what you've had to say about it... headed your way!

    1. Peace... what a beautiful word, Shimon, it is a reality I would like to live to see, I am sure you would agree. Papa Bear loves it when you add greeting for him on my blog. I always tell him and it makes him smile to know that someone is thinking of him! :-)
