Two Shoes Tuesday #27 - Sacrifice

Welcome to Two Shoes Tuesday... a place to share what we enjoy doing most... writing! Each week I provide a one-word writing prompt and invite you to share a short story, poem, essay, thought, or photo relating to that topic. You can add a link to your post anytime, there is no deadline. You are not required to use the actual word in your post, but please use it as the theme.

The writing prompt for March 5th is
"sacrifice"

When you've finished your post, share it with us by adding a link in the Mr. Linky widget below. Please link directly to your Two Shoes Tuesday post, rather than just to your blog. Also, please provide a link on your post back to this one.

The only other request is that you read and comment on the other entries, at minimum the one before and after yours on the list.

I've made it easy to locate this post and our archives by including a tab for Two Shoes Tuesday at the top of my home page.  Feel free to email me at jts.2000@yahoo.com with any questions, or to submit suggestions for future word prompts.

NOTE: This week (and every other week) the first person who adds a post link to the Two Shoes Tuesday Mr. Linky will be given the opportunity to choose the word prompt for the following week!

Now let's get down to business... tell me about sacrifice!

  1. Thanks, Josie. I need to shut down and am glad to see you here. I really didn't want to be first again but I am tired. XD

    1. I am impressed that you stayed up late just to add your link, Jim! I have the post scheduled to appear just after midnight, just for folks like you and our friends across the pond! Put your thinking cap on, you earned the right to come up with a prompt for next week!

  3. Josie, I'm glad I found this prompt, because it got me reworking an old poem that is still too wordy, but fits the theme so well, in an odd way... I'll try to come back on Tuesday (or Wednesday, ha ha ha) more often! Love, Amy

    1. I thought your poem fit the intent of the prompt extremely well Amy, it was an incredibly powerful statement of a mother's love. If only all mothers had that kind of passion for their children! I have already planned the demise of TST, but I hope you will still come 'round to visit and comment!

  4. Amy introduced me to your blog, and I'm glad I found you - though my response to the prompt word is a negative one.

    1. I was delighted to see that you'd dropped by to read and participate, Viv! Your piece had some powerful images to tell us about what sacrifice should not be and how we've come to view it as a bad thing. That's the other wing of the bird of reason, and we need both to balance and fly!
