Ramblin Jos

I ran across something new today... a blog that limited the length of comments.  A box popped up to tell me that my comment exceeded the allotted space, but that I could break it into two comments if I wanted.  It took a couple attempts at editing to get it accepted as one comment. It didn't offend me, it made me laugh!  I am known for rambling on with my comments... blogging in other people's comments box.  I tend to ramble on a bit in my posts too, in case you haven't noticed! Ya, right... you've noticed... and probably groaned or gave up after the first run-on paragraph or two!  It just seems that I always have so much I want to say.  Maybe the gods were trying to tell me something?

Look, this is  a short post, just to prove I really can do it!  Don't expect to see it often though,  words flow from my fingers just as they do from my mouth and mind.  Someday I'm going to find the off switch for that hamster wheel spinning in my head... but for now, I am who I am!  Thank you for bearing with me! :-)

  1. I've never come across a blog that limited the size of comments. That is hilarious. You can keep it short and sweet, Josie. You can do it. LOL.

    1. LOL Selma, that was a new one for me too, but I wouldn't be surprised if more of my blog buddies added it! :-) I actually wrote a short post just now for Sunday Scribblings... it came to mind in short form and said all it needed to say. I love it when that happens!

  2. As a fellow rambler, I say you just say whatever you want to say!

When I set up my new comment system on my blog recently, one of the options was to expand the box as text was being typed. I wondered then if I didn't enable it if someone's comment might be limited, or if it was only something visual. Better safe than sorry, I say, so I turned it on. Don't want to stifle someone if they've got something to say. (See, on that other blog you mention, I would probably have run out of space by now!)

  3. I tend to talk more in person, and in my writing be more concise. That can be a problem, too. Sometimes I am sure Bill wishes I would be more quiet. *LOL* In writing, sometimes I think I am lacking, if it seems short. Balance.

  4. You know I go on for days and days in my posts and sometimes my comments too! I'd laugh too if a "you're blabbering to much" warning popped up =)

  5. You and me both, friend! I can be so wordy! Both in speech and print. I try to be mindful when posting that most people probably won't really read the whole thing if it is just one long continuous text, but honestly, there are times when that is the form the story is asking for. I reason that the ones that really need to read it or will benefit it in some way are the ones that will take the time to read it in its entirety.

  6. LMAO, your reputation proceeded you!

And for the record, I wouldn't want you any other way!

Your comments are always appreciated... they make me smile! :-)
