Devotion

Sophie is a "Daddy's girl".  She has a reserved spot draped over his leg where she parks every night as soon as he sits down and stays there 'til bedtime.  She is very possessive and gets disgruntled if Chole or Tiggy, who also love laptime with him, try to horn in on her space.  In fact she'd even rather I not try to cuddle with him if she's there first!  I thought this picture taken last night says it all about furkids' devotion to their caretakers. Sophie is a rescue cat and is such a mellow little sweetie, true to the nature of Maine Coon cats; if I could clone her I'd have a dozen more!

    1. I think so too Lady in Red, it just melted my heart! She will lay in his lap and look up into his eyes with such love that it's just amazing. All cats love Papa Bear, they know a good soul when they meet one! :-)

    1. Absolutely Squirrel Nuts! Maine Coons are often referred to as "gentle giants", Sophie is a small girl, very fluffy, and a little bit round but so very loving, and so meek and mild she would starve to death if she had to fend for herself, she will let the other cats take her food and just watch them! We have to make extra sure they leave her alone, and she gets to sleep in her very own room at night, undisturbed. She loves it and it drives them crazy that they can't vist in her room too! :-) I had a big male Main Coon named Smokey and he really was a little round bear, equally as gentle and affectionate, and such a talker!

    1. This little girl is just the most precious ball of fur Selma, when we went to the shelter and I picked her up from the basket in the cage where she huddled amist an assorted motley crew of kittys, she meekly licked my hand and then snuggled in to my arm and began to purr. She was so happy to have a new home and family, and we've been so blessed to have her!

  4. This picture has made me smile a hundred times in the last few days. How precious are our furry little bundles of devotion and joy in our lives?

I want to also issue you with the Liebster Award but saw where you don't necessarily tag so consider yourself twice awarded and know that I am so glad that we have become quick blogger friends!!

  5. Nothing can destress me like purring, softpawing lap of fur, Carrie! Somehow they just know when you need something to pet and they offer themselves up as willing stress toys! I am ever amazed by cats desire to hang out with humans, but then again I much prefer their company to my own kind too, maybe there's a message in that?!

Wow..a Double Liebster... sounds like some kind of iceskating move, doesn't it?! :-) I am so pleased that you are also bestowing this honor on me, the latest post you just put up today says it all about why we clicked immediately... the hibernation thing! :-) And having moved down from the Midwest, I'm pretty much in love with the more layed back livestyle of Southern living, I'm betting ulcers are far more rare in these parts! :-) Thank You for adding a reason to smile on a day when I'm feeling the misery of allergies, thanks to all that heavenly rain. There are always blessings coming our way if we look for them! I appreciate you!!!
